Should I fit sound deadening to my car or van?

Why fit sound deadening?

We often get asked ‘is it worth adding sound deadening in my car?’. The simple answer is ‘yes’!  Depending on your car or van, fitting sound deadening to the doors dramatically reduces road noise, vibrations and enhances the audio quality / acoustic environment inside the vehicle.

We install sound deadening with all our audio upgrades. This video shows our Comfort Mat sound deadening door kit being fitted to a T6.1 in our workshops in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, along with an Audison sound upgrade.

Adding sound deadening material to your car, van or motorhome has many benefits; here’s a breakdown:

Reduced Road Noise

Sound deadening materials absorb and dampen external noises like road, tyre, and wind noise, resulting in a quieter ride. The material also reduces vibrations that can resonate through your car’s panels, helping to eliminate rattling sounds and making the ride more pleasant and peaceful, especially on long trips.

Less Engine Noise

Soundproofing helps isolate engine noise, reducing the mechanical hum or vibrations that make their way into the cabin.

Better Audio Quality

The reduction of vibrations and external noise means your car’s audio system will perform significantly better. The speakers won’t have to compete with outside noise, resulting in clearer sound and less distortion at higher volumes. The improved acoustics allow for better sound tuning in your vehicle by magnifying the sound quality.

Enhanced Insulation

Sound deadening materials also provide a layer of thermal insulation. This can help keep the cabin cooler in summer and warmer in winter by reducing the transfer of heat and cold through the car’s metal body.

Longevity of Vehicle Components

By reducing vibrations, sound deadening materials can help prevent rattling and damage to interior components, such as trim pieces, speakers, and panels, which might otherwise wear out or become loose over time.

We also offer sound deadening for wheel arches, floor, load area, roof and bonnet. Contact us with your vehicle details and requirement for pricing.
