Security products 

We install security systems for van conversions, coach-built motorhomes and camper vans, from brand-new vehicles to classic campers. All makes and models are catered for. Our MD has 45 years of experience working with vehicle electrics, and we have 4 fully-trained auto electricians, so you can rest assured that your vehicle is in safe hands whilst in our care. 

Thatcham approved alarms

We install a range of alarm systems but for the later CAN vehicles, we recommend the Autowatch 69500 alarm system which operated through your factory remote control.

The “DON’T PANIC” wild camping alarm

This has been developed by Motor Mods following a huge number of requests from customers wanting additional security on their motorhomes.


Many motorhomes are already protected by an alarm and/or trackers but some customers want more, especially when camping in secluded spots, known as ‘wild camping’, or even just those odd nights in lay-bys and services.


The Wild Camping Alarm is designed to protect people and property. There are many reported cases of vehicles being attacked in secluded places, in some cases using potentially life-threatening chemicals/gas.


The aim is to deter the intruder quickly using the criminals’ greatest enemies, noise and strobe lights.

Tracking systems

We recommend the Scorpion S7, S5 VTS or S5 VTS+ tracking systems which can be used independently or linked to your vehicle alarm so you receive a notification when the alarm is triggered. View full information on our security page. 

Immobilisers

All modern vehicles have a factory fitted immobiliser but unfortunately, thieves can bypass these easily by cloning your key.  An additional immobiliser adds an extra level of protection.  We offer a range of immobilisers including the Autowatch Ghost CAN immobiliser, Sterling Excel Thatcham 2 engine immobiliser and Cobra A4627 ADR engine immobiliser with ADR tags.  

Deadlocks

These are popular for van conversions and camper vans.  The high security hook locks are operated independently from the manufacturers locking system, adding an additional level of security to your rear doors. 

Camera Systems

We offer a range of camera options and our recommendation will depend on your motorhome and requirements. Options include: 

  • Replacing faulty factory fitted cameras – even if these are built into a housing/moulding, we can replace the factory camera with a new camera without changing the aesthetics.
  • Single lens heavy duty camera
  • Twin lens heavy duty camera with reverse image and permanent rear view
  • Integrated brake light cameras for van conversions with original high level brake light
  • Blind spot cameras – cameras mounted to the side of the vehicle to show your blind spot on indication
  • 360° ‘birds-eye’ camera systems for optimum guidance when driving and manoeuvring your vehicle
  • Bespoke camera solutions – we regularly get asked for bespoke solutions such as front cameras for parking, bumper mounted cameras for pulling out of junctions or 4-way cameras with indicator and reverse triggers.  Please contact us with your requirements and we will find a solution! 

We also have various options for displaying the camera image.  Popular options include 7” mirror monitor (great for permanent rear view), 7” dash monitor or integration into your navigation screen. 

Head unit upgrades / navigation 

This is one of our most popular installs because many motorhomes come without a radio fitted, a poorly equipped ‘non-branded’ navigation units, or just a basic radio. We offer a wide range of replacement units from Pioneer, Sony and Alpine which will bring you up to date! All our prices include parts and labour, and a leisure switch so you can use the head unit whilst camping, without the keys in the ignition.

For large motorhomes, we recommend units with camper-specific navigation built in. This allows you to enter the dimensions of the vehicle, so the navigation takes you on a suitable route, and not down any narrow lanes or low bridges!!

For campervans and smaller motorhomes, we have a range of units with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which allows you to use APPs such as Google Maps or Waze through the head unit display.

We also have demo units in our showroom, so you can pop in anytime to run through the options with a member of staff.

Audio upgrades 

For those who appreciate good sound quality, you are unlikely to be impressed with the speakers in your motorhome!  We offer a range of audio upgrades, starting simply with a new set of speakers in the cab doors, through to two stage Audison DSP setups!
