Genuine Parking Camera Installation
Currently available for Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Cupra and some BMW models. In these installations the camera and wiring loom are genuine parts and all coding is included in the cost. As a VWG UK Independent Workshop we have ODIS-online diagnostics to enable us to add accessories to the chassis build, meaning coding is unlikely to be lost when future software updates are carried out.
The camera will automatically display on the radio screen when reverse gear is selected and will operate as described in your vehicle handbook. Highline (moving) and lowline (fixed) guidelines are available. Highline cameras offer much easier orientation due to the lines which are integrated into the video picture and change depending on the steering wheel angle to help guide you into a space.
Aftermarket Integrated Camera Systems
These parking cameras work in a similar way to the genuine camera systems described above but use non-genuine parts. If your vehicle has a factory navigation screen, the camera image will be displayed on this when reverse gear is selected. We stock a variety of cameras to suit every vehicle including wedge camera to sit above the Numberplate, Numberplate light cameras, bumper mount cameras, swivel cameras and many more.

These parking cameras work in a similar way to the genuine camera systems described above but use non-genuine parts. Reversing camera installation with aftermarket screen
This option is for vehicles which do not have a factory fitted screen that can be utilized for a rear camera. We offer a number of options for the display.
Option 1: Mirror Monitor
A rear view mirror monitor keeps your dash uncluttered and is a cost effective way of adding a camera to your car.
Our smart Mirror is an OEM style replacement Rearview Mirror, with an integrated 5″ (16:9) High Resolution Digital LCD Screen. This will act as a normal rear view mirror until the vehicle is placed in reverse, then the screen will be displayed in the mirror allowing you to reverse safely.
A 7″ mirror or dash mounted monitor is available for motorhomes and commercial vehicles
Option 2: Aftermarket Head Unit
Despite the shape of most modern dashboards, we can still install an aftermarket head unit such as a Pioneer or Alpine unit, to a surprising number of vehicles. Using a vehicle specific installation kit, we will remove your original radio and install a double DIN or ‘floating’ unit with an LCD touch-screen. These units offer a wealth of additional features – options include Apple Car Play, Android Auto, Bluetooth, DAB, navigation and more.

360 degree ‘birds eye view’ cameras
We now offer a 360 degree camera system for maximum protection. The cameras are suitable for installation to motorhomes, camper vans, commercial or plant vehicles.
The Synergy Smart Vision 360 is a state-of-the-art Parking Assistance System and AVM (Around-View Monitoring system). This innovative system utilises four individual wide-angle cameras mounted around the vehicle. The images are then processed to provide a full 360° video on your infotainment system to form a bird’s eye view.
A variety of different views are selectable through the control switch, some of which are automatically selected when the turn indicators or reverse gear is selected.
Features:
- Default View on start-up – The 360° ‘Bird’s eye’ view provides the driver with a complete view of the vehicle surroundings, offering assistance when parking or manoeuvring in restricted spaces.
- The system automatically switches view when the car is placed in reverse gear, or when the turn indicators are used.
- Smart Vision is especially useful when reversing into or out of parking spaces, as it offers the driver the top view combined with a wide angle rear view, to negotiate even the tightest of spaces. If required the driver can switch to a full screen view of the front or rear cameras using the control switch.
- When the indicators are used, the system will project the left or right camera images onto the screen in addition to the top view, providing the driver with a perfect view of hazards in the blind spots, such as cyclists and other low objects which cannot be seen in the side mirrors. This will also prevent kerbing of wheels, which can be costly.
- The driver can manually engage full screen front or rear view, which provides a much wider camera image of the vehicle front/rear surroundings. This is very useful when visibility is restricted – for example at a junction with a hedge or wall blocking the view of the oncoming traffic, or reversing out onto a road, many accidents are caused this way, Smart Vision 360 will ‘see what you can’t’ see’.
- Turn your 360 camera into a dash cam! 1TB 4-channel 1080p recording available so you can record your journeys giving you peace of mind. Parking mode is also available.
- The camera system can be linked to your aftermarket alarm system so the cameras will record if the alarm is set off.
- Wifi dongle available to connect to vehicles wifi so footage can be monitored remotely (additional charges may apply and wifi connection required).
- Cameras have a 195 degree horizontal viewing angle and are AHD 1080P Full HD quality
- 7” or 10” display options available or the vehicles factory screen can be utilised, if preferred.

Genuine 360° camera systems
We also offer genuine 360° camera systems for certain Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat vehicles, please contact us with your registration or VIN number and we can check if this is available for your vehicle. The video below shows a recent install in a 2014 Audi RS6. All genuine parts were used in this installation.

FAQs
Can I get a camera fitted as if it was from the factory?
We aim to achieve a ‘factory fitted finish’ in as many of our installations as possible. Whether we use genuine camera parts or an aftermarket interface, most of our camera installs will display on the factory infotainment system.
I haven’t got a screen so can I still get a reversing camera?
Yes, we have a range of display options for reversing cameras if you don’t already have a screen in the vehicle. Options include changing the radio for one with a touchscreen or fitting a dash or mirror monitor. Contact us with your vehicle details for more information and costs on the best solution for you.
How big will the camera be?
As reversing cameras are one of our most popular installations, we keep a wide range of cameras in stock from small wedge cameras for cars, to night vision cameras for motorhomes or brake light cameras for vans. We will pick the most suitable camera for your vehicle.
Will I be able to see the camera?
Our cameras installations are made to be as discreet as possible. Most cars can be fitted with a tiny wedge camera above the numberplate which gives a great viewing angle, but can barely be seen.
Can I have moving guidelines?
This depends on the car and the parts being fitted. It is possible to have moving guidelines on many vehicles such as Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover and Jaguar. The guidelines change with the angle of the steering wheel to help guide you into a space.
If moving guidelines are not possible for your car, we can usually offer fixed guidelines.
Do they affect my warranty?
There is no reason fitting a reversing camera to your car should affect your warranty, but it is worth checking with your manufacturer / warranty company if you are concerned. Our parts and labour are guaranteed so in the unlikely event that an issue should arise with the camera, you can rest assured.
Do you only offer reversing cameras?
No! We offer a wide range of camera options including forward facing cameras, side cameras for blind spot monitoring, 360 degree cameras, horsebox cameras and bespoke camera installs based on your specific requirements.
How long do they take to install?
This depends on the complexity of the vehicle. A reversing camera installation on most cars and vans take around 3 hours, motorhomes and camper vans generally take a little longer.
How long is the guarantee?
We offer a 12 month parts and labour guarantee on our camera installations. As a ‘bricks and mortar’ company with 47 years in business, you can rest assured that you are in safe hands.
Do I need to inform the insurance company?
Anything you change on your car is classed as a modification and you should make your insurance company aware.
